
Dr. Jaclyn Siegel
Jaclyn A. Siegel, PhD, is a feminist social psychologist whose research examines how sociocultural forces—such as LGBTQ+ stigma and gender role expectations—shape people’s attitudes toward and experiences in their bodies. Her work examines topics such as eating disorder prevention and treatment across diverse genders and sexual orientations, eating disorder recovery in social environments and relationships, and embodiment throughout sexual and reproductive experiences.
Dr. Siegel is a Clinical Research Specialist at the Violence Prevention Center at the University of North Carolina Charlotte and a Research Fellow at the Kinsey Institute for Research in Gender, Sex, and Reproduction. She also serves as a Content Expert on body image and eating disorders for the mental health panel at Our Bodies Ourselves. In addition, Dr. Siegel is an Associate Editor for Psychology and Psychotherapy: Theory, Research and Practice and serves on the editorial boards of Psychology of Women Quarterly, Body Image, Sex Roles, Psychology of Men and Masculinities, and Frontiers in Social Psychology.
